Hi, I’m Julia.

I help neurodivergent storytellers become self-published authors.

What is self-publishing?

Self-publishing means you don’t go through a traditional publisher to make your book available to the public. It also means you decide how to price your work, where to distribute it, and in which format(s). You can use online platforms to publish

your book as an e-book, paperback, or hardcover. Readers can buy it directly, and the platform handles printing and shipping each order—so you don’t have to worry about stacks of unsold books at home.

If you don’t, and those words make your brain switch off, I’m here to support your self-publishing journey. As your editor and personal publishing assistant, I help turn your ideas into a print-ready manuscript—without you having to write a word yourself. I’m also here to bring focus and organisation to your bubbling creativity. Just hand over those boring, linear tasks. Believe me or not, that’s where I light up.

Of course, you can self-publishif you enjoy long-form writing, multi-stage editing, formatting and editorial admin.

  • Unlike most in the industry, I help you publish without taking a cut. Depending on the self-publishing platform you choose, you retain between 60% and 100% of your chosen sales price.

  • Even if I write or edit parts of your book, nothing gets signed away. You are the author and you keep full ownership of your files and published content.

  • You decide on which platforms your book is published, how it’s priced, and when (or if) to update it later. You also get to choose your design and formatting. Everything is custom-made to reflect your story’s uniqueness.

  • Throughout the editing process, I’ll offer my professional input but never impose my preferences. That means I won’t alter, trim, or sanitise your work. You’ll always have the final say.

  • The way you think, feel, and communicate carries a creative depth others will struggle to replicate. Your ideas feel fresh, real, and surprising. I’m here to help you bring that brilliance forward in written—without letting it get weighed down by boring admin and rigid formalities.

  • Not every story is an easy story. I respect your pace and boundaries, recognise the impact of past experiences, and prioritise your emotional well-being throughout the writing and publishing process.

  • I do not offer services to individuals or organisations whose work promotes hate, discrimination, or oppressive ideologies—including but not limited to racism, ableism, transphobia, fatphobia, or misogyny. If your story relies on dehumanising others, I’m not the right publishing partner for you.

This is for you if

You’ve carried your story inside for ages. You’ve shared bits of it in conversations, voice notes to friends, long emails, maybe blog posts or late-night rants that no one else quite knew what to do with.

You’re not short on insight. But when it comes to turning it into something publishable, you hit a wall. Not because you’re not capable; quite the opposite.

You’re voice is powerful and your bursting with vivid story ideas—but

  • Planning, organising, and following through on tasks feels difficultespecially multi-step ones like long-form writing and publishing.

  • You hyperfocus, then get demotivated when having to concentrate on routine or tedious tasks.

  • Your brain works in images, sound, story, but rarely in tidy, linear paragraphs.

  • You get a dopamine kick when starting, but the closer you get to the end, the further away the finish line seems to move.

Publish without compromise, gatekeeping, or needing to «write like the establishment.»

The good news is: You don’t need to write in a straight line to become an author.

Publishing was built by and for neurotypical normies (like me).

If your process is spiral-shaped, nonlinear, intuitive, or spoken, we’ll build your book that way.

I help you go from:

  • Voice notes → chapters

  • Unstructured ideas → manuscript

  • Internal chaos → published book

I’m here to help you organise your thoughts, give structure without being rigid, and do the detailed tasks that feel overwhelming or straight up boring.

All the while holding an emotionally safe space for your story, process, and rhythms.

Working with me adds external validation to help you stay motivated and on track with your goals.

It’s much easier to complete a task when you’re not doing it alone. As your publishing assistant, I’m here to hold you accountable for the goals you set yourself.

Think of me as your story midwife: I’m here to help bring the story inside you onto the page and out into the world.

The Process

  • We start by finding the shape of your story. Through conversation, gentle prompts, and optional planning guides, we’ll outline your book’s core structure, including book plot, key message, tone and narrative perspective. You’ll leave this phase with a clear direction and a sense of what’s possible.

  • Together, we develop the first draft. I gather content through in-depth interviews, your voice recordings, and supplementary research where needed. Our goal is to preserve the way you speak and shape it into a written form that feels like you. Whether you speak, send notes, or brainstorm in conversation, I’ll help transform what’s already within you into a manuscript that feels grounded and coherent.

  • Once the draft is complete, it moves through a full editing cycle:

    • Developmental editing looks at the whole piece and asks questions like: Does the structure make sense and is it coherent? Can the reasoning be followed? Are certain ideas missing, repeated, or unresolved?

    • Line editing moves to the sentence-level, and targets flow, tone of voice, and rhythm.

    • Copy editing focuses on the technical aspects of the writing: punctuation, grammar, consistency.

    • A final proofread ensures everything is polished and ready for print or publication.

  • When your manuscript is ready, I prepare it for publishing. This includes:

    • E-book Formatting: If you’re publishing digitally, I’ll convert your manuscript into an EPUB file (the industry standard format for e-books). Additionally, I can provide a mobile-optimised version to ensure a smooth reading experience on smartphones.

    • Print Typesetting: If you’re publishing a paperback or hardcover, I’ll typeset and format your manuscript to meet the specific requirements of each platform, such as trim sizes, margins, fonts, and accepted file formats.

The result is a beautiful, professional layout that supports your story.

  • With final files in hand, your book is ready to be published. This includes:

    • Setting up your author accounts on your self-publishing platform(s) of choice

    • Uploading your files

    • Adding keywords, your author bio, book descriptions, and ISBNs

    • Reviewing everything together before going live

Once approved, your book is available for sale within 24 to 72 hours — in your chosen formats, under your name, and on your terms.
